Sometimes you just want to shoot your kids

I did a family shoot at Falls Lake last week. They turned out well and I realized it was time to shoot my kids again. We went to the same part of the lake for two reasons. One, I was familiar with the lighting from the day before and two, the kids have never been here and there were lots of new cool things to do and rocks to throw.

I love the cow lick here. He says it is no big deal. Wait until I show it to him when he is older.

Then we had to take the obligatory family shot.

RJ and Amber shoot

I love this family. I met Amber on Flickr a couple of years ago when they lived in Charlotte. They moved here last year and when time permits, we get together to talk crap over a beer or just walk around Raleigh shooting some. This past week, I had the honor of doing a casual family shoot with them at Falls Lake. RJ and Amber were married that day and wanted some casual photos to remember the day by. Richard was good enough to assist me on this shoot and also took some of these photos. I had a great time with some great friends.

The next two photos were shot by Richard while I held lights for him and then entertained the little man by throwing rocks in the lake. It is a guy thing.

Congratulations to you three!

576 NC Cities/Towns/Villages - Cameron, NC

There are a bunch of cities, towns and villages in North Carolina. I have lived here my whole life and thought I had visited most of them. I researched and found a list which claims there are 576. That is far more than I imagined and to my surprise, I have only visited a small percentage of them. Now I am determined to fix that.

Today I visited one of them. I chose it at random from this list. Cameron, North Carolina. Population 151 according to the 2000 census. It is a nice little town. It is old with more antique stores than churches, an oddity in this state.

The drive down was nice. The weather today was clear, dry and warm. Cameron is located about an hour south of Raleigh down US1 and just past Sanford.
